I am in need of ONVIF Profile S IP outdoor cameras that will work with a Speco NVR and the Universal Remote Control Total Control system. URC says your IP cameras are compatible with the URC Total Control system, but I just need to confirm if the 6521 and 6532 IP cameras are ONVIF Profile S for the Speco NVR. Please confirm. If Channel Vision produces any other IP cameras that are ONVIF Profile S, please let me know their model numbers. Thank you!

Channel Vision has 4 cameras that are ONVIF S compliant as long as they are updated to the most current firmware version. They are the 6564, 6543, 6531, and 6532 IP Cameras. The 6521 and 6522 are NOT ONVIF S compliant and therefore could not be used. Channel Vision partners with URC (Universal Remote Control) and therefore ...

The router has stopped working despite power cycling it several times. Can I use a switch and use my wired internet connect instead? If not, how do I go about fixing the router?

Asked By – On January 21, 2014 – With Comments Off

If your router is experiencing an issue it would be advisable to consult your users manual and re-check all settings, or  take down the model number and contact the customer service department of the company who makes that router for troubleshooting. Generally speaking all internet connections require both a modem and a router. If this is ...

I was hoping to get your input into some issues I have been having my home surveillance system that is comprised primarily of channel Vision products including: NVR: 36 Channel CMS Software (most current version of software from your internet site) IP Cameras: One 6524 camera (firmware is all up to date) Two 6522 cameras (all firmware is all up to date I am running the above software on a 2-year old Apple iMac computer. Recording is currently flawless — no interruptions, errors or other technical issues. However, playback is very problematic. If forwarding back and forward in recorded video, the player very frequently freezes. However, if you repeatedly click “play” or “rewind” eventually it will go again — Sometimes after a few clicks, most times after 20 or 30 clicks. Then it may pick up where it left off, or the video may jump ahead or back in recorded time by three or four minutes. Further, if I advance video by frame and take a jpg snaphot, the created jpg file won’t be what I am looking at, it is either a few frames earlier or later that what I wanted. With all this said, it may appear to the layperson that the computer processor is just running slow and as a user I just need to be more patient for the system to catch up; however, patiently waiting does not help. If the video freezes, I can wait forever it doesn’t start going again. I need to keep clicking and clicking and clicking until it eventually goes..and of course it will then not start where I left off.

All issues you are experiencing aside, the 36 Channel CMS software is not compatible with Apple computers. The program was designed to run on a Windows operating system, therefore it is surprising that the program was as functional as it was. Apple computers can usually run a dual operating system and this would be necessary to ...

I have the channel vision DVR-43G-250. Can I hook up HD surveillance cameras to this? I inquired about these cameras and was told to make sure the DVR is HD compatible.

Asked By – On January 13, 2014 – With Comments Off

The Channel Vision DVR-43G was not designed for HD cameras. It cannot pass or process an HD signal. You can only use analog cameras which use coaxial cable. Coaxial cable can only pass a composite signal which is not an HD signal, therefore unfortunately your HD cameras will not be compatible with the DVR-3G series.

Installed 6 months ago, worked fine. Beeped twice and then no picture/video. I tried reboot, power cycle, clear HD…no picture. Please advise how to fix this type of issue or is it a failed camera?

Have you tried viewing the camera independently from the NVR? If not, go to the camera’s IP address, including the port number at the end. Do you get an image from the camera when logging into it? If not then the issue may be with the camera. If you do have an image then you ...
